Wednesday afternoon the Belleville Tigers came into Chelsea looking to take a bite of the Chelsea Bulldogs Junior Varsity team. But the Bulldogs had other plans and they attacked first, quickly, and often putting up several quick goals to take a 5-3 lead in the first quarter. Sophomore Spencer Gobba had the hat trick in the first quarter and he wasn’t about to stop there.
In the 2nd, Belleville fought back hard behind Lazar’s hat trick and limited Chelsea’s scoring to go into the half only trailing by one. In the third both teams exchanged goals and entered the 4th with the Bulldogs leading by 2. The Bulldogs poured it on in the 4th quarter and opened up their lead making the game a little more comfortable for Chelsea netminder Freshman Anthony Gervais who made several great saves on the night to keep his team out in front.
Chelsea finished the night with a huge 17-12 victory led by Gobba’s 8 goals and 2 assist. Sophomore Max Gervais had 3 goals and an assist. Also contributing to the scoring cause was Jarod Felton with a pair of goals. Doug Zarinnia, Brady Fleszar, and Sam Peterson helped with a goal scored apiece.
Belleville was led in scoring by Campbell, Copeland, and Lazar with 3 goals each.
The Bulldogs next action is Friday at home against Temperance Bedford.
