Chelsea Girls Track Dominate Stockbridge Invitational

The Chelsea Bulldogs girls track team competed Friday at the Stockbridge Invitational and came away with the big victory with a total of 113 points. Lily Francisco reached the shotput finals and placed 4th with a throw of  93″ 8″ in the discus. Other highlights included the girls 4×400 relay team of Matusik, Manly, Miller, & Joyce placing 4th with a time of 4:18.8. Karana Wickens & Allison Hughes placed 2nd & 3rd in their events with times of 11:54.1 & 12:06.1 respectively. Sydney Matusik took 5th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 63.5

Other highlights include Laney Miller taking 3 in the 300 hurdles with a time of 50.7 and Jesse Jacobusse taking first in the 1600 with a time of 5:22.1 and 2nd in the 800 with a time of 2:24. Christine Schultz took 1stin the pole vault with a height of 9’6″ & Jenna Gileczek placed 2nd with a height of 9 feet. Hannah Almhiemid placed first  in the 100 with a time of 16.07 and also helped the 4x200m relay take 2nd with her teammates of Schultz,  Manly, and Matusik. The Bulldogs next meet is Friday at the SEC Championship at Tecumseh.
